The Avengers: Not really a review

Avengers

Yesterday I had the privilege of seeing the first summer Blockbuster movie – The Avengers. The privilege was – being able to watch it TWICE.

It happened unintentionally but who am I to fight being invited to a VIP show hosted by Acura Sherway AFTER I’d already received my UltraAVX tickets courtesy of the EatSprayLove editor – Huy. Credits for the Acura invite to Ameer, who’s just awesome.

There really is no point in reviewing the movie – it’s THAT good. [Read more...]

Eat Spray Love: The Most Freakin Awesome Content On The Web For Men And Women!

Now that I have time to catch up, I needed to talk about a website. It might be blatant promotion of the website itself – but hey, I actually do enjoy the content and concept of the website itself as well.

The website is called – Eat Spray Love. The name itself is catchy, as is the website logo.

The concept is simple as well. There are several editors and contributors to the website and in a timely fashion content from across the interwebz is posted in ‘One Big Middle’. Refer to the image below.

The website claims to be “The Most Freakin Awesome Content on the Web for Men and Women!” and after spending a few minutes browsing daily on the website I’d have to agree. The website has a very ‘quirky’ feel to it.

There are seven categories and I’ll just copy this directly from the source because they best explain it in layman’s terms.  [Read more...]

Bollywood and Sunny Leone

So it’s been some time since my last post. Got caught up with – you know, Life. Now that my term has ended, I have some time to gather my thoughts and I’m going to spread them across a few posts.

My biggest beef right now is with Bollywood. This post explains why, but now I’m going to add another reason to it. Sunny Leone. Seriously – she is no longer popular stateside (specifically in the porn industry) so she decided to do what anyone famous and bored does – try their luck in Bollywood. And wow was Bollywood thrilled to bring her on board.

Sunny Leone

On what grounds? Seriously? Has Bollywood completely gotten rid of their benchmarks? [Read more...]

2012 Canadian International Auto Show

I try to attend the auto show every year. Why? It’s for the cars of course. It’s always exciting to see new and upcoming cars, concept cars and the limited edition exotics and classics. What’s not to like about it? As a car buff it’s time well spent.

This year however, I was invited to the Canadian International Auto Show’s VIP party. I was invited to visit the auto show a day before it opened to the general public. All courtesy of Ameer Khan of Acura Sherway. A formal night out checking out all the cars before the general public? Whats not to like!?

Kijiji had a pre-party lined up for the VIP folks are Real Sports Bar and Grill as well, and I’m not entirely certain what the purpose of the party was – but a party is a party!

Happy New Year!

2012 is here!

And just like that, 2011 is over.

2012 is here. The year Hollywood has been celebrating as the End of World because the Mayan Calendar is coming to an end.

I’m kinda excited for this year. Crazy movies, more awesome technology and perhaps even more personal accomplishments lined up for this year.

I dont really have resolutions set, just some guidelines I’d like to stick by this year and grow as an individual.

All I’d like to say is – time is always on your side, just maximize it!

Let’s see how 2012 pans out!

Review: Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

On friday, I had the privilege on watching Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. This was the first ‘Mission Impossible’ in the quadralogy to have a title that wasn’t a number. I think that was a good sign. As always, the movie was watched in UltraAVX (Read more on why this is the best way to watch a movie). Due to work and other commitments, I was only able to make it to the 11pm show, but man was it worth the wait.

Without revealing too much about the movie, I’d like to say this: The movie was VERY ENTERTAINING! The action was intense, there were cheesy moments, but Simon Pegg’s [Read more...]

Stop Bullying!

Stop Bullying!

So it’s been a while since I posted something here. What I intended to be my ‘outlet’ for frequent thoughts has been reduced to the occasional post. However, I plan to change that for the next year with a hopeful redesign.

That is NOT why I’m writing this post though. I came across a video just a few hours ago which really bothered me.

Watch this clip first, and then take a few moments to gather your thoughts.

Bullying is not a new issue, and has existed for eons. It’s only talked about more and more in our current times because of how much noticeable the effects of bullying have become. In few of my psychology courses in the past, bullying has been discussed to death, why people get bullied, who gets bullied, who bullies etcetera.

Jonty’s India Chronicles

India Chronicles: 2011 Edition

Landed and prepped for city!

I apologize in the delay in updating my blog – I couldn’t really update it as I wasn’t in the country!

It had been three years since I last visited my motherland, India. I decided I had to take time out this summer and give the country a visit. My visit was planned around the vacation of my friends in India, so everything was booked and I decided to fly out across the world, by myself, for the very first time to India. I know some of you guys do this often, but this was a fantastic first time experience. I hit up YYZ and went thru a rigorous security process and soon boarded my Jet Airways flight to BOM, India. The flight was as usual pleasant. After almost a day of being in transit I finally arrived Mumbai, and cleared customs without a hiccup.

Foursquare check-ins at the Airports on the way there!

As soon as I stepped outside the warm Mumbai breeze hit me reminding me instantly of my first 15 years of my life there. I was welcome by my Chaddi Buddy (literal translation – diaper buddy) and my cousin brother.  Took a quick drive around the city and got home around midnight. Man, had the city changed. Instead of optimizing the area, [Read more...]

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

So yesterday I decided I had nothing better to do after work, and went to watch the third, (and hopefully) the final installment of Transformer’s trilogy. Michael Bay who is known for his explosive, over the top action sequences, once again directed the final movie. The first movie was truly one of a kind movie, with spectacular CGI and imaginative ‘transformation’ sequences of the Autobots and Deceptacons. Still clueless about Transformers? Refer to this website for more info.

As always, something this intense and filled with CGI had to be seen in UltraAVX for obvious reasons. The movie was a midnight show, so there were no previews and the movie started immediately. If you plan to watch the movie stop reading this now. [Read more...]
